| Synopsis | Albert M. Spradling, III was born in 1947, the son of former State Senator Albert M. Spradling, Jr. and Margaret Peggy Spradling. Opting not to follow his father into state-level politics but still wishing to pursue public service, Spradling first became a city councilman of Cape Girardeau, Missouri in 1988 and was re-elected in 1992. In 1994 he was elected Mayor, and again in 1998. These elections were non-partisan.<br>The interview took place in Mr. Spradlings business office in Cape Girardeau, where he continues to practice law in partnership with his father. During the course of our discussion, we spoke about his life and the inner workings of the municipal-level politics, particularly as related to his own campaigns. |
